[TRNSYS-users] Coupling airflow (in TRNbuild) versus TRNflow

Kevin,
TRNBuild (Type56) only asks the user to provide the amount of air flow
from zone "A" into zone "B" (note that Type56 does NOT assume that an
equal amount of air flows back from zone "B" to zone "A" so you have to
take care of the mass balance manually). TRNFlow actually figures out
what the flows back and forth would be based on temperature differences,
pressure differences, and mechanical systems in the two zones. It also
takes into account the entire building, not just the two zones. I
imagine that it would be very hard to run exactly the same case using
TRNBuild and setting the mass flows manually and using TRNFlow. Even if
the flow between the two zones is the same, it may be that TRNFlow is
calculating some other flows elsewhere (increased infiltration for example).
Kind regards,
David
