Hello,

I am still running trnsys 15 but have received some model files from
trnsys 16. Basically it is a building simulation using TWY weather
files. I can run the building in TRNSYS fine, but need to use the
radiation processor as the TRNSYS 15 does not has a type 109 (but 89 for
the data reader and 16 for rad. processing).

I notice however that there are quite some differences between the
different type 16's, depending on the input you select. For instance,
16C uses total horizontal radiation, temperature and humidity (no
radiation smooting) while type 16i uses totla horizontal and horizontal
diffuse. Both methods can be used, as data is available.

Using 16C results in slightly lower heating values, but much larger
cooling values (2x higher), so the effect is quite large. I have not
been able to find out exactly which procedure is used by type 109
though, so any information on that would be most welcome. If more
procedures are possible, is there a preferred one?

Thanks!

Henk Witte
