Igor,
 Section 8.4.8 of the Volume-08 Programmer's Guide manual explains the 
process of updating a Type from the version 14.1 coding standards to the 
version 16 coding standard. Perhaps obviously you would need to have a 
Fortran compiler in order to make, compile, and link the modifications.
