[TRNSYS-users] Type 344 - Outdoor pool

Kent,
It depends a bit on how the pool temperature is controlled. The Type344
model assumes that the pool is not thermally stratified - so you need to
put a pretty massive amount of energy in to increase the temperature. If
you are controlling pool temperature by turning on and off a pump and a
heater that maintains a supply water temperature, Type6 is a good choice
because it is designed to modulate its energy input to maintain a flow
stream at a set temperature. If you are sensing pool temperature and
turning on and off a heater that always runs at the same capacity, you
might be better off using the boiler model that is in the TESS HVAC library.
Kind regards,
 David
