Building Simulation 2009
University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland
27th – 30th July

Call for abstracts for BS'09

Conference website: www.bs2009.org.uk

Abstracts may be submitted via our website above. Please note that abstracts
are due by 1 September 2008 when the review process will start. Late
abstracts will be accepted up to a cut-off date of 22nd September.

IBPSA will hold its 11th bi-annual international conference, the leading
international conference in building performance simulation, in summer 2009
at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. Glasgow, Scotland’s largest
city, has an unrivalled choice of museums, theatres, parks, science centre
and shopping, set within some of the finest Victorian architecture in
Europe. In addition, Glasgow has a worldwide reputation as a welcoming city
and is firmly established and experienced as a major centre for conferences
and international events.

The conference organizers are seeking high quality papers and will limit the
number of peer-reviewed oral presentations. Submissions will therefore be
rigorously peer-reviewed. Simulation-based papers on the following themes
are welcomed:

1.	advances in building physics
2.	human aspects of the indoor environment
3.	building services
4.	commissioning and operation
5.	energy capture and conversion
6.	advances in applications
7.	validation and calibration
8.	software issues
9.	simulation in design practice
10.	regulation/code compliance
11.	application day case studies*

* One day of the conference will be devoted to practical applications,
particularly focusing on simulation in practice with illustrative case
studies. Therefore, a limited number of additional papers are invited in
order to enable practitioners to demonstrate the benefits flowing from the
recent upsurge in the use of simulation in building design. If you wish to
contribute such a paper, please ensure it is marked as an application day
case study in the abstract submission.

Abstracts should be in plain text and no more than 500 words. They should
describe clearly the research objectives and new knowledge arising from the
research.
