[TRNSYS-users] High time step

Manuel,
I ran one of the example buildings with a time step of 2 hours and got
basically the same result as with a 1 hour time step. So I think it is
possible to run with a 2 hour time step but I can't really think of any
reason why you would need to and I am not sure if you are going to get
very good simulation results. Bear in mind that TRNSYS can only make one
control decision per time step; if the controls decide to turn on a pump
or a heater, those devices will then remain on for an entire time step
(2 hours in your case) which will likely mean that your system is going
to overheat and undercool your building quite dramatically. Usually when
I run simulations, I run them with a 1 to 5 minute time step.
Kind regards,
David
