[TRNSYS-users] Solar Load

David,
I have run my model using both the NTYPE 901 and NTYPE903. Since I have
only one window and zone shouldn't the gains to the zone be the same?
NTYPE903 is producing a higher gain to zone. Please can you tell me the
difference between the two outputs?
Thanks

Subject: Re: [TRNSYS-users] Solar Load
Patrick,
Try NTYPE901 - its a solar balance on a given zone. An output file
will be generated by Type56 with all the terms of the solar balance as
described on page 6-26 of the 06-MultizoneBuilding manual. One thing to
be careful about is that each entry in the output file is the value of a
given energy transfer over the previous timestep. However, the values
are only generated once per hour. If you are able to run in energy rate
control and use a 1 hour time step, there is no problem but if you are
running with a shorter time step, you'll only be able to see the value
of the energy transfer over the last time step in the hour. Its a known
problem and one that will presumably be worked out in the next version.
Kind regards,
David

Hi,
I am trying to find the total solar load into a typical office space.
The typical office only has one window with a shade and is currently
facing south. I am trying to determine the solar load based on different
glazing/shades. What output in the TRNBuild model would I use to
determine such a load to the space?
Thanks for the help
