Thank you for your answer.

 

I used a Type14h to define the unshaded fraction of the façade over a year. 

Then I used 2 Type 34, one after the other: the first one with only
wingwall, the second with overhang. 

 

Overhang inputs are coming from an equation module which calculate the
fraction of solar shading coming from Type14h and from Wingwall module.

 

Then, I’m trying two different strategies:

 

1-      I’m trying the simulation when using only “Fraction of solar
shading” as output from the calculation module, going to a new variable in
my BUI file, used in “external shading factor” for the window shaded by a
pergola.

 

2-      I’m also trying to use IT, Beam radiation and angle of incidence as
output from the calculation module, to a new orientation I defined in my BUI
file.

 

Which strategy would you prefer?

 

Last question: when using 2 type 34, one after the other, do I have to put
“upstream component mode” of the second Type 34 on “1” ?

Murielle,
  You are correct that when calculating the shaded radiation falling on a
facade, Type34 assumes that the overhang and wing walls are opaque. However,
Type34 also outputs the fraction of the facade that is shaded and the
fraction that is unshaded. If you were able to define a translucence for the
pergola (in other words the pergola doesn't fully block the sun but only
some part of it. The translucence would be a measure of the fraction of
sunlight that is allowed through either when vegetated or unvegetated.) then
I think you could use the Type34 shading fractions, adjusted for a
translucent overhang.
