[TRNSYS-users] Why is IB_N = Input9 * LT(AI_N, 90) in the wizard for Building Project, when Inpu9 is the beam radiation from type109

Alfred,
The equation IB_N will have the value if Input9 (which is presumably
the beam radiation of tilted surface-1) as long as the angle of
incidence of beam radiation on surface 1 (AI_N) is less than 90 degrees.
It is a way of making sure that Type109 doesn't pass solar radiation to
the building when the beam radiation is behind the plane of the building
surface. The equation should not be necessary; I have never needed to
use an equation like that. It has always been sufficient to make sure
that the weather data component appears before the building in the input
file. To change the input file order, go to the component control cards
icon (where you set the simulation start and stop times)
Kind regards,
 David
