[TRNSYS-users] How to use Window5 to create a window system with the values expected?

Yujun,
This is a pretty common problem unfortunately. At some point you
will have to just do the best you can. One thing that my colleagues
and I have found helps is to get some idea of the construction of the
window (pane thicknesses, location of films, gas gap thicknesses,
frame descriptions, etc.). These can help guide you and get you
pretty close to the published values. I have not had much luck using
Optic5 to generate new windows. Where I have found Optic5 to be
helpful is that it gives access to the IGDB (International Glazing
Data Base); that data base expands quickly and you can often find the
actual manufacturer and window that you are looking for, export it to
Window5 and avoid all the problems of tuning your window to match the
published data.
Kind regards,
  David
