Pauline,
   One of the advantages of TRNSYS is that if a component does not 
exist and you have access to a compiler (fortran or c++), you can 
write the component yourself based on first principals and add it to 
TRNSYS, using it in combination with components that do exist. 
Alternatively, if you have access to performance data for a 
component, you can model it using one of the generic data reading and 
interpolating components. The basic pressure and volume relationships 
in a stirling cycle are not complex and can most likely be found in a 
thermodynamics text book.
