Mohammad,
Because parameters values are only read once at the beginning of a
simulation, even if you did connect the output of a component to a
parameter value, it would not be updated. The reason your equations
are giving you zeros is that outputs 1 and 2 from unit 9 are not
assessed before the parameter values x and y are read.
