[TRNSYS-users] compiling of old user written TYPES (here: TYPE 71: UNGLAZED TRANSPIRED COLLECTOR SYSTEM)

   My apologies if someone already responded to your question. It is 
necessary to make changes in source code between versions 13 and 14.1, 
between 14.1 and 14.2, and between 15.x and 16. It is not necessary to make 
changes to code between versions 14.2 and 15.x. If your component was 
written in 1995, it was likely written for either version 14.1 or for 
version 14.2. You can refer to the end of Chapter 3 (pp 3-49 and 3-50) for 
information on what changes need to be made. I took a quick look at Type71 
and it looks as though it has been updated for use with TRNSYS 14.2 and 15.x.

   I think that the problem lies either in the compiler or in a WRITE 
statement. By the last release of TRNSYS 15, we were using features in the 
Compaq 6.6b compiler so it may not be Type71 but one of the other 
components in your simulation that is causing the error. If that is not the 
problem then Type71 seems to write its own warning file. If you step 
through the execution of Type71 you may find a problem with the 
initialization of that warning file.
