Torah Scrolls in Memory of Fallen  Heroes 
(IsraelNN.com) Three residents of Yishuv Eli made the  ultimate sacrifice, 
giving their lives in battle during this summers Second  Lebanon War. The 
community, together with the bereaved families, has embarked on  a mission, the 
writing of Torah scrolls in their memories.
Major Roi Klein,  31, jumped on a hand grenade, thereby saving the lives of 
his men. He is  survived by his wife Sarah and their two children, Gilad and  
Yoav.
First-Lieutenant Amichai Merchavia, 24, was raised in Eli, arriving as  an 
infant along with his parents, Moshe and Tova, a founding family of the  
community. He is survived by his parents and nine siblings.
Gilad Zussman, 26, a security officer employed by El Al Israel Airlines, fell 
in  battle. He is survived by his wife Chani and their son Lavi.
Community  officials explain they have already raised the funds for two of 
the torah  scrolls, and are turning to the public to assist in the third, 
permitting them  to share in this mitzvah.

Please take out a few moments and say some tehillim  (psalms) for the Israeli 
chayalim (soldiers) & for everyone living in  Israel. Israel also has eight 
soldiers in enemy captivity, namely:

Gilad  ben Aviva (Shalit), captured just outside Gaza on June 25 of this year;
Ehud  ben Malka (Goldwasser) and Eldad ben Tova (Regev), captured on the  
Israeli-Lebanese border July 12 of this year;
Guy ben Rina (Hever),  disappeared near the Syrian-Israeli border in the 
Golan Heights in August  1997;
Ron ben Batya (Arad), captured when his plane was downed over Lebanon  in 
Oct. 1986;
Tzvi ben Pninah (Feldman), Yekutiel Yehuda Nachman ben Sarah  (Katz), and 
Zecharia Shlomo ben Miriam (Baumel), all captured at the Sultan  Yaaqub battle in 
Lebanon on June 11,1982.
