Attached is this week's NASMHPD Weekly Update.

The Update continues to compile links to various Federal agency guidance documents and memos relating to treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as links to 41 sec. 1135 state waivers granted by CMS. Links not previously published are marked "New". (We are also compiling these links on a NASMHPD website COVID-19 landing page, which can be found linked from the opening NASMHPD web page.)

This issue also highlights on page 1 a SAMHSA Funding Opportunity Announcement of grants to states (up to $2 million) and territories (up to $500,000) funded through the CARES Act, for which the application filing deadline is next Friday, April 10.

The Crisis Now Crisis Talk column discusses the long-term behavioral health impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

There is also an announcement of a new partnership between NASMHPD, Westat, and the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR) to provide practical information and specific tools to State mental health (MH) and vocational rehabilitation (VR) programs to enhance collaborations at the local and state levels in order to increase competitive, integrated employment outcomes for individuals with mental illness.

There are two new SAMHSA webinars, one on COVID-19 and one on the Crisis Services Best Practices toolkit, as well as notice from the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ) of supplemental amendments to existing grants to address health system responsiveness to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Finally, there's a story on the impact on telephone help line call volumes of the increasing anxiety resulting from the pandemic.

Please, stay well and safe.

Stay Well,
