Attached is this week's NASMHPD Weekly Update, which contains:

(1) a Request for Information from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on Coordinating Care from Out-of-State Providers for Medicaid-eligible Children with Medically Complex Conditions;
(2) a study finding that Intensive Crisis Intervention produces sustained reductions in suicidal ideation in youth;
(3) an account of a Congressional hearing in which state agency heads charged with reducing opioid overdoses, including two NASMHPD members, recounted how the state opioid response grants funded by Congress had helped to achieve that goal through the funding of an array of evidence-based practices, and those same witnesses requests for additional flexibility in how the grants may be spent;
(4) this week's Crisis Now CrisisTalk blog featuring the Veterans Administration's Dr. Ira Katz, who discusses how examining overall mortality can shine a light on opportunities for suicide prevention;
(5) the National Council of State Legislature's calendar of the 2020 State Legislative Sessions;
(6) a SAMHSA GAINS Center's solicitation of applications for three Train-The-Trainer (TTT) Events on Trauma-Informed responses;
(7) an announcement of a medical student fellowship on substance use disorders being offered by the Institute for Research, Education, and Training in Addictions (IRETA); and
(8) two new SAMHSA Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOA) of the availability of meteorological disaster response grants for the territories and an additional SAMHSA FOA on the availability of Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Expansion Grants.

We hope you find this publication useful.

Have a good weekend.
