OUR MEETING UNTIL MONDAY, JAN 13.

Come and take a part in OPEN MIC SHAKESPEARE, an ongoing series of free,
open readings of Shakespeare plays sponsored by the Cleveland Shakespeare
Festival.

On Monday, January 13 at 7pm, we’re meeting at Negative Space Gallery and
Cafe, located in the AsianTown Plaza building at 3820 Superior Ave. Free
parking and the entrance to the building is located off of 38th St (Lots B
and C) between Payne and Superior. Take the stairs or elevator to the
second floor.

Beer, wine and beverages are available for a donation.

Roles will be assigned at the beginning of the event and rotated throughout
the play without regard to traditional casting considerations, to give a
chance to everyone who wants to read.

Passion, Power and Betrayal heat up a cold January night with a tale of an
affair so torrid it could shatter an empire. Aging general Mark Antony
co-reigns over the Roman Empire with two other men. Stationed in
Alexandria, he falls in love with the mercurial and regal Queen of Egypt,
Cleopatra. While Antony neglects his duties to Rome (and his wife), young
Octavius Caesar amasses power with an eye toward conquering Egypt. A "Romeo
and Juliet for Grownups", the story hinges on the choices we must make when
love and duty collide.

Because of the length of the work, we'll be splitting the play into two
parts to be read in January and February.

We will have a limited number of copies available, so if you have a copy of
your own, please bring it.
