DUTIES: Performs research in facility and installation energy modeling,
simulation and optimization. Work with teams to participate in energy audits
and recommend energy-efficient design solutions and energy-efficient
technologies including building envelope upgrades, lighting, and HVAC.
Participates in energy audits of retrofits to identify and investigate energy
reduction and utility cost reductions. Conduct energy and economic analyses
of design alternatives using energy modeling software. Develops detailed
energy models using DOE-2 compliant software such as eQuest or EnergyPlus.
Facility energy modeling experience with energy modeling software such as
EnergyPlus, EQuest, DOE-2, Carrier HAP, TRNSYS, or TRACE is required.
Experience with heat and mass transfer analysis software packages such as
WUFI or WUFI Plus is desired. Perform research in broader power and energy
efforts including net zero energy installations and sustainable forward
operating bases (FOBs).
