[Ibpsausa] Meteodyn Urbawind Workshop (Tampa, FL)

Dear Building Simulation community (with apologies for any cross-listing) - 

 

If you are in Tampa (Florida), mark your calendar because Meteodyn is
running a free one-day UrbawindR workshop on Feb 16, 2011.

 

Objectives

 

The aim of this workshop is to equip designers and engineers with the
technical skills to be able to perform wind simulation using UrbawindR and
understand how to use this tool as part of an Integrated Design Process to
perform natural ventilation assessments, wind energy potential feasibility
studies, and wind comfort analyses. Note the emphasis on the Integrated
Design Process, which means that the focus is on how to use wind simulation
to design high performance buildings (LEED) and pleasant neighborhoods.
Florida with its tropical humid climate is perfectly adapted to fully take
advantage of natural ventilation techniques. Several case studies will be
presented. 

 

 

Instructor

 

Guillaume Dupont is in charge of the projects and business development for
Meteodyn in North America. Expert in wind modeling for construction design
and building integrated wind turbines, he gives dedicated trainings and
takes part to the strategic development of the software solutions of
Meteodyn. He has a strong interest in high performance green buildings,
natural ventilation technologies and renewable energies. He has received a
double master's degree in mechanical engineering from Centrale Nantes
engineering school (France) and energy management from the Berlin Institute
of Technology (Germany). Before working at Meteodyn, Guillaume did research
in CFD modeling for micro thermo-photovoltaic power generation systems at
the National University of Singapore.

participants are encouraged to register by filling up the attached
