Good afternoon,

I am currently working on a project that is aimed to develop a
methodology to derive an accurate efficiency rating (NPLV/IPLV) for
all-variable chiller systems already in the field. The data being
collected consists of two to four weeks worth of information consisting
of:

1.	Chiller energy usage (pre-VFD)
2.	Fan motor(s) energy usage (pre-VFD)
3.	Pump motor(s) energy usage (pre-VFD)
4.	Condenser loop flow
5.	Condenser loop supply and return temperatures
6.	"Load/Evaporator" loop flow
7.	"Load/Evaporator" loop supply and return temperatures
8.	Outside air temperature & humidity

The goal is of course to retrofit inefficient equipment if necessary,
but with a degree of accuracy that is going to be investment-grade.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a way to set up a series of
calculations that the above information can be utilized to provide an
accurate model of chiller performance and can then be used in an apples
to apples comparison with new equipment? Ideally, this can be done
without the need to input all the cutsheet information on a piece of
equipment which may or may not accurately represent how the chiller is
operating in the field in that climate.

Just for a reference of the kind of tool I am looking to be able to
create - the ASHRAE article created by Terrence Morris and Steve Blaine
at CH2M Hill titled, "Chiller Plant Optimization Tool
<http://www.ashrae.org/members/doc/ASHRAEDAJ08Jul0520080630_8090903.pdf>
" provides something very similar. The main difference between what they
did and what I am looking to do is that a cutsheet was used to determine
efficiency ratings measured by the manufacturer, whereas I am looking to
take efficiency measurements in the field without any reference to the
claimed efficiencies of a cutsheet(s).

Thank you for your help - this is my first post so I hope that the
format is correct.
