7:30-9:00 Dinner and Presentation by D. Michael Utzinger

 

The talk will focus primarily on integration of energy simulation models
into the design of the Aldo Leopold Legacy Center and comparison of the
models with measured performance of the building. The Aldo Leopold
Legacy Center is a LEED Platinum building and the first to receive a
LEED  Innovation Credit for carbon neutral/net zero design.

An associate professor of architecture at University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Michael Utzinger began working on simulation models
in the late nineteen seventies at the Solar Energy Laboratory,
UW-Madison.  In addition to teaching he has consulted on a number of
LEED and high performance building projects.  His experience includes
establishing project energy goals (including net zero energy),
integrating simulation into the design process and post occupancy
evaluation of energy performance.


Dinner cost $40, cash or check only. No credit cards please. We will
provide receipts at the restaurant.
