[Equest-users] Modeling Gas Engine Heat Pump (GHP) in eQUEST Software

Hi Ahmad, Jeff,

I haven’t used it before, but it does look like you can use the GAS-HEAT-PUMP code-word as the HEAT-SOURCE for DX units to model a gas-engine-driven compressor (see below).

In the User Guide Volume 2 (dictionary), the Air-to-Air Heat Pump section should have more information about the associated keywords for the system:

Hello Ahmad:

I'm not clear about your system. A quick look at the EQUEST manual does not show such a system in the index.

However, a general google search of such systems shows lots of options, for example, a gas fired furnace combined with a heat pump? Or possibly a nat gas fired engine driving a heat pump compressor.

The first system is easy to model. The second would be a challenge.
