[Equest-users] Floor Multiplier in Detailed Edit Mode

A long time ago (like 1993-2005), I was marketing a program DrawBDL to display DOE-2
building models. Following is how DrawBDL would display a similar 5-zone/floor building
model:

At that time, I was toying around with the idea of using the FLOOR-MULTIPLIER number to
create the missing floors, but that would require the user to specify an appropriate Z of
the representative floor, whether it's at the lowest, the middle, or maybe even the top of
the floors.

The building model would then be displayed as this (done using cut-and-paste of the
DrawBDL drawing, which uses Microsoft primitive drawing tools):

I also thought of adding an option for the user to display the duplicated floors with a
lighter shade to indicate their prevenance. But alas, these were all just ideas, and since
DrawBDL sales tanked after 2004, and my graphics programmer got a real job, I never did
anything to DrawBDL except to add an EnergyPlus import, which was actually quite easy to
do because the EnergyPlus idf is completely explicit, with no shortcuts like LIKE, SET
DEFAULT, etc. In fact, doing DrawBDL for DOE-2.1E was probably the harder thing to do than
for eQUEST or EnergyPlus :-) By the way, I'm still passively marketing DrawBDL, but have
to caution that it works only with DOE-2.1E and EnergyPlus-3.0, see Web site at
www.drawbdl.com . Joe
