[Equest-users] R values

In detailed mode (or after hitting “complete” in the wizards), find your construction in the component tree under the “building shell” teab, and double click the construction for an overall U-value (inverse of R) and check out the layers tab for a comprehensive summary of the individual components’ thermal properties:

Regarding R-value units: When in doubt, expect eQuest is using IP units, not SI. In the USA we normally use R-values in the units ft2·°F·hr/Btu. The conversion factor between IP and SI units for R-values is something between 5 and 6.

Without knowing what material you’re referencing, I can almost guarantee something R-38 is in IP, since if it were in SI that would be something like R-200 to 240 in IP units (unlike any material I’m used to seeing in typical building constructions).

Subject: [Equest-users] R values

Hi all,

I need to know the R values of the constructions (doors, roof and Wall constructions) used in equest. How can I learn it?

Also, does a insulation material R-38 mean a insulation material with R=38 m2K/W?

Thank you

Kind Regards

Gul Nihal Gugul
