Spandrel panels are exterior opaque walls, not glazing. SC and VT do not get set for opaque walls. You can building your spandrel using layer-by-layer or by simply specifying an R-value. A typical spandrel panel with 4” of semi-rigid insulation realizes about R-6 depending on the ratio of spandrel to framing.

Subject: [Equest-users] Spandrel Modeling
Hi everybody!
I’m modeling spandrel sections. I have the conductance calculated and just want to make sure I get the SC, VT and outside emissivity correct.
I have both the shading coefficient and visible transmittance set at 0 – please correct me if wrong.
What should I set the outside emissivity to?
Thanks!
Darryl
