Hello eQUEST users,
I am new in eQUEST and I am training my self at home
Trying to make an energy model complying with ASHRAE 90.1 - 2010 - Energy
Cost Budget Method
Based on the below information from ASHRAE, the eQUEST simulator should
allow to develop two designs one for the proposed model, the other for the
baseline model
According to eQUEST Introductory Tutorial; The simulation process begins by
developing a "model" of the building based on building plans and
specifications.
A base line building model that assumes a minimum level of efficiency
(e.g., minimally compliant with California Title24 or ASHRAE 90.1) is then
developed to provide the base from which energy savings are estimated.
Alternative analyses are made by making
ASHRAE 90.1 - 2010 - Energy Cost Budget Method; software requirement is
that the model is capable to;
11.1.5 Documentation Requirements; The energy cost budget for the budget
building design and the design energy cost for the proposed design
11.2.1.2 The simulation program shall have the ability directly determine
the design energy cost and energy cost budget,
11.2.4 Compliance Calculations. The design energy cost and energy cost
budget shall be calculated using the same simulation program,
My Q ; using the building creation wizard in eQUEST; .. which model is
developed? is it the proposed model or the baseline model?
... and if it is the proposed model in which stage the baseline model will
be developed .. or possibly; it will be generated automatically base on the
primary building input data and the site & weather data?
I can not find any tool that refer to generating the baseline model
The software I am using is CAN-QUEST ;a derivative software developed by
Natural Resources Canada under a cross-licensing agreement with J.J.
Hirsch for the eQUEST software, It builds upon eQUEST 3.62x and includes
complete Canadian weather data,
Best
Regards,
Faisal Ibrahim Sharif
