Are you running equest in XP compatibility mode? Do so, it seems to reduce these events.

Otherwise, no clue.

I am in the eQuest DD wizard working on the fourth shell and when I try to put in the custom shape of the footprint it gives the following error when I try to save the shape; "Building Energy Simulation Tool has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.” I sent the files to my supervisor and did not have the problem on his computer. My IT says that I am not running out of resources or anything when this happens. I tried rebuilding the model and had the same problem when I got the to the 4th shell. My computer is an ACPI x64 based PC with four Intel core i5-4300 CPU at 2.60 GHtz, 4.0 GB RAM and a 64 Bit processor. It has Windows 8.1 Pro and an Intel HD Graphics 4600 video card. The video card properties says it has 1920 Mb of total available graphics memory, 128 MB of dedicated Video Memory and 0 MB or System Video memory. There is 235 GB of free space on the hard drive.
