Franklin Energy, a consulting firm specializing in the implementation of
utility and government operated energy efficiency programs, is seeking
an Energy Advisor. This position is located in our Madison, Wisconsin
office and the application deadline is September 15, 2007.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide energy advice and coordination services for the Focus on Energy
New Construction program. Services are mainly targeted to the
multifamily/ mixed use construction market including building
owners/developers, management companies, architects, engineers,
suppliers and contractors. Introduce the various Focus on Energy
incentive programs that pertain to these customer segments. Both
electric and natural gas measures are involved:
* Promote the Focus on Energy New Construction Program in Wisconsin.
* Work with business and building owners to provide energy efficiency
advice and assistance in participating in the statewide energy
efficiency program;
* Identify and document opportunities for energy efficiency in
multifamily and commercial new construction projects and provide
follow-up if required;
* Work with various members of the design team to provide program
information and advise them on program requirements and technical
information;
* Enter data into spreadsheets, databases and create energy building
simulation models to determine energy savings and to manage current
projects;
* Be able to work in a team atmosphere, willing to collaborate on
continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Educational:
Engineering or Architectural college degree preferred; technical degree
or equivalent experience required.
Skills & Experience:
* At least two years of work experience either in construction or energy
efficiency;
* Experience in customer service, sales, and/or field work preferred;
* Background preferred in one or more of the following: Building
Science, building maintenance, HVAC, lighting, controls, building
envelop / weatherization, or related fields;
* Be able to work with or learn various software programs to perform
building energy simulation analysis including Trane Trace or Equest for
new construction projects.
* Building simulation experience or HVAC system design experience
preferred;
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation as travel is
required throughout Wisconsin.
This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. Compensation based
on experience.
