Dear All,
I was wondering if anyone has previously used Type 569 as a PVT collector (with water flowing through the channels instead of air)?
If so, did anyone make validation attempts?
I am planning to model a rectangular flow unglazed polymer PVT solar collector.
Most model rely on the fin-type system. In our case, we will have rectangular flow channels.
Type 569 just has one channel, defined by collector width, length, and channel height, if I understand correctly.
My aim is to have loads of small channels, instead of just one, so I probably will have to make some modifications (higher pressure drop, higher velocities, turbulent HT, etc. ...)
Is there another Type out there, that might better suit my needs?
Of particular interest is the wind velocity dependency, and how this is included in the efficiency calculations.
I researched a lot about the specific importance of wind speed's influence on top loss for unglazed collectors (e.g. see NREL's paper on testing http://www.nrel.gov/docs/fy09osti/45466.pdf , publications of Vajen et. Al in NEGST tasks) .
Is that sufficiently implemented in Type569. Without having had an in-depth look at the code, I don't think so.
Would be glad for any kind of input!!
Best,
Philip
