[UA] UA Digest, Vol 3, Issue 16

My take would be that, just as human Avatars don't have to be obsessed
with the archetype and must simply follow the mold of the archetype,
demons could easily gain skill in some avatar paths simply by acting
appropriately. However, the avatar would need to not be violated by
some of the essential acts of demonhood (forcible possession of hosts,
etc), or the skill would drop pretty drastically fast. A Savage,
however, seems well-suited to returning from beyond the grave.

Sounds like a fun campaign!

So first of all, has anyone done something like that? Secondly, does anyone know if there's a restriction on Demons being Avatars? For the record, I take the Cruel Ones to a room of the House of Renunciation, which means the Cruel Ones aren't the Invisible Clergy so it's at least conceivable.
