[UA] Possibility of a Bard character?

If he's look for Bard in terms of has performing skills that have emotional
impact, I think UA can cover that. A Soul skill for music that mentions its
emotional tone and another sort of magic-ish skill that does some emotional
effects (shares your Passions perhaps, but you have to lay them out there
via music) would be appropriate.
If he's looking for Bard in terms of a jack of all trades, that's a bit
trickier—you can be a dabbler with the right descriptions and whatnot, but
there isn't really the sort of buffet of effects to build from to create a
mechanical jack of all trades.
Really, the key is what is he going for when he says bard? Have him lay that
out in terms of concept, personality, passions, and obsessions. From there
the skills can follow nicely, and don't be afraid to give custom one off
abilities in skills. I generally find something about as powerful as a
single potent minor formula spell or weaker significant formula spell can
work without breaking the game.
