Here's what I would do with this:

I think the various superhero comics represent some folks at Marvel
and DC gunning for the introduction of a Masked Vigilante archetype;
in their vision justice is anonymous, not blind. Like the Burger King
folks, though, they wouldn't mind if an empty mask ascended - although
they're hoping for a hand-picked human; what do you think Who Wants To
Be A Superhero is all about?

Mak Attax knows Burger King is up to something, but doesn't know what.
Whatever it is, it scares them.

There are already three hundred twenty-nine Archetypes in the Clergy,
so it wouldn't take very many new ascensions to fill it. Of course
this means a number of dukes are hoping to find a way to be one of the
lucky five and help shape the next world; by pushing for an "empty"
ascension, the cabal controlling Burger King is trying to keep too
many of them from succeeding - probably because a few of the more
credible attempts sound disastrous to them.

And suddenly there's really bizarre stuff going on in the DC universe
and Batman is missing in action - even from his own comic.
