I was trying to spread out among all gamers, and focused too much apparently. I read "The Stragestist" and after failing to name a modern one thought of what the archetype could be now.The Notional Tactician?
I read a book a long time ago which said that both gambling (cards, craps, roulette) and modern social games, (lottery, bingo, numbers) board games (chess, checkers, ludo) where derived from very old board games, which in turn where derived from ancient divination systems.
I mucked about with an adept school (as did a couple of others) which exploited this theme. I'm sure your Strategist could encompass Game Theory and war games, the National/State Lottery, the stock exchange, social anthropology, mobs, etc.
