More likely the warrior than the masterless man (He is, after all, servant
of the public and employed by the police force) but if he is a warrior
avatar than it's possible his archetype connection may have weakened by the
end of the movie.
Or maybe not, depending on whether you see his loosening up as a compromise
of his values.

Either way, remember that rumour about a school of "Law based magick" in the
What You Hear sections? While you could spin a school of magic out of it,
I'd say the idea of a policeman is so widespread that it's got to be an
avatar from some era.

Interesting fact: The modern police force of England has it's roots in the
victorian times. In that era, police would wear a top hat, signifying
authority, while the rest of the uniform was like that of a butler,
signifying servitude.
While these symbols are doubtlessly outdated, these strong symbols may have
been an attempt to strengthen the archetypal conncetion of individual
officers.
