Hold an official naming ceremony for an animal.  Give the animal the
true name of somebody alive.  Throw a birthday party for the person
named, with the animal as the guest of honor.  The party must be on
the date of their birth, and at the hour of birth the animal must be
given gifts symbolic of the person's personality.  Once the gifts are
given, the named person becomes a proxy of the animal.  Yes, the
animal is the dominant one by default.  It can't really do anything
with this, except to reflexively attempt to dump its death on the poor
bastard.
