I vaguely remember that Ancient Egyptians plucked their eyebrows to mourn
the passing of their pet cats.  Not sure about the salad or the
masturbation, though.

Maybe it's a variant sin eater ritual?  Devouring her sense of loss at the
passing of a symbolic cat, and then beating off to distill the remorse in
material form?  Of course, the question would be: what's he going to do with
his 10ccs or so of sticky, distilled remorse?

Or maybe it's some sort of hex on Eddie Vedder... the Pearl Jam of Loss?

I seriously need to get a life.
