[UA] The Hotel of Renunciation

So first e-mail to list. Very exciting. Must write English good.

I've been running UA for about three years in a variety of formats, and my
latest foray is inspired by two main things. Firstly, a desire to set a
campaign on a more cosmic scale (not necessarily with cosmic characters, but
at least to get more into the statospheric influences and archetype agendas
that my other campaigns haven't really touched on) and secondly, the song
Hotel California. 'Cause I love it.

So I came up with the idea of the Hotel Roscommons, a manifestation of the
House which communicates through its agents (the PCs) through coincidental
messages (which led to a lot of herring-flavoured Shining theories at first,
during the opening discoveries and Agenthood).

PS If one of my players is on this list. Leave now. You know I'll know.

The Hotel's fine. I love my Hotel. The players are fine. I love my players
(I'm just a loving guy).

So the issue: I've got plenty of whacky UA ideas to play with, but I'm not
feeling especially comfortable with the standard House mold. Since the
campaign has only just started, I'm still ironing out my own ideas of the
Hotel's Agenda, but I can't help feeling that in the long-term plots are
going to develop a certain cookie-cutter feel especially as the Room's
Agenda becomes more defined.

Today's Plot:

Okay, we're Renouncing an...epideromancer with a fetish for baby organs!
Woo-hoo!

Tomorrow's Plot:

Okay, we're Renouncing a...postal worker! Woo.

Tenth Plot:

Geez. Some guy. Flip him and dump him.

Now granted, this is nothing that Creative DMing (tm) can't solve to make
each Renunciation unique and interesting and also to feed in non-Renouncing
plots that come from standard Mystic Weirdo-ness.

But I'm uncertain as to the balance, and how to set a Room Agenda that
allows for sufficient variety while still being "genuine" as opposed to the
Room of DM's Plot Points.

Has anyone else tried to run a campaign with Agents as PCs? How did it fare
long-term? Suggests, comments, hat size?
