More importantly, they'll have the advantage of initiative - unless
that the PCs think about launching a preemptive strike, which is
unlikely (and counterproductive, anyway, since they can't do that
without drawing attention). In the event of a confrontation, the
Sleepers will likely know more about the PCs than the PCs will know
about them.

That and the fact that, should the PCs become enough of a threat, the
Sleepers can drop a line to the Order of St. Cecil about these group
of maniacs with an open gate to Hell. And whatever mundane resources
the PCs have, the Cecilites surely can top it.
