[UA] Bueller? Bueller?

I'm ashamed to admit I neither play nor even own UA.

Really, except for contributing the rare quip to a relevant topic, I just
signed on to this mailing list to soak up the weird ambiance and learn what
bizarre, possibly game related things are going on in the world.

Some aspects of UA are intriguing: the madness meters are pretty brilliant
and the use of "trigger events", "otherspaces", Avatars and Adepts are all
great.

But overall the game mechanics never appealed to me much, and the setting
always seems a bit on the humanocentric side for my tastes (preferring a
Mage and/or Cthulhu-like cosmology).

UA is something I'd love to play as a one-shot, or for a couple of sessions,
but over a longer campaign I feel like character development would be sort
of uncomfortably constrained (at least in the cool new powers department).

The game looks great for a gritty urban arcana (or Occult Underground more
accurately) type of game and I'm sure there are plenty of ideas in there I
could mine for use in other games. But in spite of all that I just never
felt I could justify spending the near $40 for it.

Sadly,
Peter K.
