[UA] Bueller? Bueller?

Folks,
I've been trying to play the game. My group is a bunch of lazy sods, and
we only get together once every couple of months, which can make it hard.
The first session went really well, with people focusing and everyone having
a good time, but the second session was a disaster; nobody remembered what
was going on, and the player of the character I built the first session
around couldn't make it. So, I think that UA, cool as it is, is not the
game for my lame group. Gonna try kill puppies for satan next time and see
if it's more their speed.
Anyway, since only one player put together a character before the start of
the session I built a plot around him. He was a plutomancer, and I decided
that his boss had taught him plutomancy in trade for having him as a Proxy.
The boss was trying to become the godwalker of Nobody (an archetype from
unknown-armies.com). He also did a major ritual on the PC to wipe his
memory of the last two years, a side effect of which was that there was a
rain of small coins over a couple square miles of Hollywood where the group
is. The boss also hired a fleshworker to change the appearance of someone
else (I hadn't decided who) to match the boss, then killed him in his office
so everyone would think he was dead.
So, at the start of the game, the Plutomancer and his buddies (the PCs) are
at a dinner party, his phone rings at the very instant the game starts, he
doesn't have any memory of the past two years, including remembering how he
learned magic, and a bunch of coins start falling from the sky. It was a
beautiful extemporaneous plot, that will sadly never be fulfilled. Involved
a gangster and Hollywood executive fighting over who was going to be True
King of West Hollywood, the mystery of who killed the boss, why the pc lost
his memory, why the pc gave a bunch of his belongings to his boss, how he
learned magic, etc.
Thanks,
Peter Darley

I was thinking the same thing.

For discussion purposes--How many of you are actually
playing the game vs. just reading it or being
interested in it? If you're playing, are you using
only the published scenarios, or are you making up
your own or what? If you're making up your own, what
are they? Share!
