You could certainly brew a lot of tea in that thing.
It reminds me of the 1960s Batman show, where Gotham City was
inexplicably full of giant household objects. Perhaps a villain whose
gimmick is that he is (stereotypically) British, who traps Batman and
Robin in the pot as the boiling water is poured in.
Alternately, the cult is attempting, for some reason, to mystically
reenact the Teapot Dome scandal by building an actual Teapot Dome.
Perhaps to produce oil from nothing. Which reminds me of a news story I
saw where an evangelical Christian is convinced that certain passages
in the Bible are prophecies regarding finding oil in Israel. Perhaps a
plot could be made of this:
