I thought that I would pass this on for any of my fellow New Yorkers.
Mike Daisey is one of the contributors to Postmodern Magick and a
brilliant performer. The topic sounds not unrelated to UA-type
scenarios, too.

Jean-Michele and I are ecstatic over this new show: to be premiering in
NYC in a monologue that includes THE LARGEST TESLA COIL ON THE ISLAND OF
MANHATTAN--well, there are few things better than that in my book.
We're talking about a Class IV Tesla Coil, which generates arcs of
ionizing electricity over ten feet in length. As our producer told me
yesterday, "Mike, if you have any metal in your body, anywhere, you'd
better know before we turn this thing on."
For pictures of the coil in all its glory, shots of Tesla's last
laboratory and other assorted mischief, check out http://mikedaisey.com
where you'll find it all laid out. But to actually *see* the coil with
its ten-foot arcs of wild ionizing power, and to see if I survive--to
see that, you need to come to /Monopoly!/
We're thrilled to be playing in rep with BOOZY!, and to be produced by
Les Freres Corbusier. A fantastic preview piece on BOOZY! at the New
York Times via this link: http://tinyurl.com/4ukkj and the full skinny
on BOOZY!, including tickets, can be found at http://boozyshow.com
(See both shows for $25--no better deal in NYC will ever exist.)

YOU CAN'T PLAY THE GAME IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE RULES
In his latest monologue, Mike Daisey illuminates the warped genius of
Nikola Tesla and his war with Edison over electricity, a battle etched
into the streets of New York City. Threads loop and whorl around
Microsoft's historic antitrust lawsuit, the checkered history of the
game Monopoly, and ultimately the story of Daisey's own hometown and its
one remaining retailer: Wal-Mart.
THE RULEBOOK WILL NEVER BE PUBLISHED
Subversive and hilarious, /Monopoly! /brings to life the questions we
confront in our benevolent era of corporate rule, and the struggles each
of us faces in a system that recognizes only profit and loss.
DO NOT PASS GO
/Praise for Mike Daisey's previous monologues:/

The Seattle Times
"comic delivery so sharp it draws blood"
San Jose Mercury News
