I can think of one use for a major charge gained this way... It would
make the adept "One with the Water God", turning him into a sentient
body of water. Depending on your game's style, it can be anything from
a slithering "water elemental" to a sentient Mississipi River.

So, if your players are going against a whole cult of hydromancers,
you can have the god they revere be one such "enlightened being", or
you can have the main antagonist turn into something like this
somewhere along the road.
