Man, I had *exactly the same thought*, but didn't write about it 'cause 
I couldn't find the right phrasing.  You nailed it.  That someone else 
thought of it must mean there's something there, right?  (Right?)

Canon UA GMC Ken Hite had a Suppressed Transmission column about 
Futurists which would be worth skimming and mining for references.
