I am going to try to run my first UA game in the coming weeks, but I would
like to change things up a bit. I would like to change the scene to Chicago
in the '30s. I have piles of catalogs, magazines, and other literature from
the era that will act as great filler. The timeframe fascinates me greatly
as does the city.

Originally I had intended to run this as a superhero game, but a recent
perusal of UA 2nd has captured my interest.

What is the collective opinion of the group regarding post-modern magick in
the 1930's? How would it differ? How would it be similar? Is it feasible?
How powerful is the Hermeticism from bygone days? Is it even still
lingering? What schools/paths would be around?

I know I would like all of the PCs to be unindoctrinated into the OU. They
will all be fellow graduates of the U. They are all coming home to attend
the funeral of a friend from school who has died in odd circumstances (but
has been ruled accidental and will recieve no further investigation). I
don't yet know why this guy died or how. In my mind he was involved in the
Underground -- possibly making a play for local power.

I am just not UA-savvy enough to figure out the changes myself yet. Further
thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Are notes for your "Chicago Rules" session available, Mr. Holloway?

Regards,

Sam
