[UA] First Campaign

I'll be running my first campaign pretty soon, and was
hoping I could bounce some ideas off of you all and
get some help with it.

I wrote something about this yesterday (not so
detailed), but I think it was eaten somewhere along
the way, as I never got my own message from the list
(also had very little email in general, yesterday).

Anyway--

The characters thus far (there may be one more):

A writer with terminal cancer. We haven't decided the
where of the cancer yet, but wherever it is, doctors
can't fix it.

A folklorist/professor.

An orderly on a psych ward obsessed with the
unconscious. He keeps a dream journal, and keeps a
journal about all of the inmates as well. He also
works a second job as a care-giver for the writer.

The starting scenario:

The writer has done some discreet inquiry and heard of
a faith healer who's for real. He's made the
necessary arrangements, and had the caretaker/orderly
take him to "faith healer."

The folklorist needs to publish in order to keep
tenure--she's heard about the faith healer and wants
to write about him. So she's there too.

Then what?

I've got a couple of ideas. Possibly, the sleepers
show up, and pandemonium ensues. However, I would
like for this to be the trigger event for the writer
and the folklorist, so obviously I don't want them to
die/have their minds noodled, so they need a good way
to get away. I thought that letting them escape in
the general chaos might seem a little too easy for
them.

Possibly, TNI shows up. A D level team is more likely
to bungle things than a group of sleepers, but it
could essentially be the same scenario as above.

Or something else happens! If so, what?

Horrible things... There are a few terrible things I
want to work in here. The first is a nightmarish
doctor's waiting room. People with all kinds of
deformity, etc, all crammed in to a shabby and
horrible space. Two, cancer! Basically, I want the
guy to reach into the author, pull out a huge, black
tumor, and then "whoever" shows up. The guy drops the
tumor, and it crawls away. Three, the room in the
back. In the pandemonium, the players find the room
in the back, where the "faith healer" has several
people trapped. They realize that the "healer" has
been transferring the illnesses/injuries from his
patients to these victims.

So...I'm open for ideas. What level of stress checks
are we talking about for these things? I'm thinking
unnatural checks for everyone that sees the "reach
into the body and pull out the crawling cancer"
maneuver, plus an additional...what? for the author?
Self, helplessness? (ideally, his cancer has
metastasized from the orignal site, so he's still
sick).

What sort of check for realizing that the guy has been
passing the illnesses on to other people?

Also, if anyone has any ideas for avatars/archetypes
for The Running Man, and The Devil's Advocate, I'd
like to hear them.

Basically, if everything works out well, I'll have the
players end up in a car chase. Unless they blow it
spectacularly, they'll go through a tunnel (which
curves), and when they come out, be on a country road.
 Then I'll run Bi3P.

Any comments on a good setting for this are especially
welcome!

Jonathan
