The world is detailed in a straightforward event-by-event historical account of WWII. Events that
happened in the real world are noted plainly while events that feature or were influenced by the
existence of superpowers are noted with a bullethole next to the heading. Occasionally, there is a
dossier on notable characters mentioned in the narrative. The neat thing about the notable
characters is that even though they're superpowered, most of them are killed in the war or at
least dead by the 80s. I'm no historian, but that whole section (which is a good third of the
book) kept me hooked.
