Today's Chicago Tribune has an article below the fold on the front page of
the Perspective section that is so UA I can scarcely believe it. It
documents a conspiracy of newspaper writers that began in 1965 and spread,
as a viral meme, throughout the country.
The purpose of the conspiracy? To refer to an 'occult hand' in newspaper
articles.
I think back on the bit in "To Go" about how unwitting avatars find
themselves working catchphrases into their speech and I can't help smiling.
The only difference is, I had Messenger avatars muttering "What's the
scoop?"
So close. Ah well.

The Order of the Occult Hand is real!
