The "missing" genetic material is magically created to
bond and fertilise the egg. The genetic material could
come from a spiritual template source - such as anyone
that has ever Ascended through the years.

The child will have some of the mother's genetic
material, but the rest... who knows.

My version just had the mother fall pregnant - whether
she was capable or not. If she had sex (with a male)
within three days afterwards, that males sperm would
be forced to bond with the mother's egg.

I just left out the specifics as to create the
unexplainable weirdness factor.
