Hmm.  Well, everyone knows a sword swallower but me,
it seems.

That being the case, can you all point me to some good
history of the carnival/freakshow type resources?  Of
special interest is the early days of Ringling Bros.
and Barnum and Bailey Circus, which started largely as
freakshows as I understand it. 

I'm having a bit of a hard time getting through the
veneer of "happy" they've painted themselves with.
